Gemma Hoddy
A London born creative artist with a passion for hip hop theatre & all types of movement
direction.
With an extensive international performing career under her belt Gemma has progressed
into choreography, creative direction and production management roles both in the UK &
abroad.
Based in both London & Dubai she continues to work as both a Choreographer and artist her rich body of work includes choreography for the likes of John Newman, Adidas, Hershey’s, Dubizzle, Expo2020, DP World closing ceremony, Breakin’ convention UK & international superstar music producer Redone amongst many others.
As a seasoned performer Gemma trained in both Musical theatre as well as all styles under the street dance umbrella, as a result she has toured the world with hip hop theatre productions including Boy Blue Entertainment’s Laurence Olivier award nominated triple bill ‘BLAK WHYTE GRAY’ as an original cast member, premier cast member of Ferrari World, Abu Dhabi’s original production ‘RED’ incorporating circus acts, dance and stunt performers alongside project mapping and multimedia performance genres; she has acted in Levi Root’s original musical production Sound Clash; Death in the Arena at the 2023 Edinburgh Fringe Festival as Swing and covered the role of female DJ Bagga Wire. As a commercial dancer Gemma danced with the likes of superstars including Rhianna, Drake, Redone, Rita Ora, Dizzee Rascal, Lemar, Maya Diab & Alexandra Burke amongst others.
Gemma organically progressed into choreography and has choreographed major live shows, music videos, tours, TV commercials and viral campaigns as well as flashmobs and live corporate event performances.
She has also worked in a number of production-based roles as a show caller for prestigious events such as SMK Tennis tournament 2023 – Abu Dhabi UAE, Dubai Rugby 7’s – Dubai UAE & Majid Al Futtaim ‘TAG’ property launch 2023. She also has project management experience, working on many UAE based events such as DSO event authority 2022/2023, Galleria Mall winter wonderland Abu Dhabi UAE & and has also worked as artist liaison on Icons of Porsche, Dubai looking after many high-profile performing artists.
With a unique and varied wealth of knowledge and experience in all aspects of creating and executing live performance art, Gemma is a versatile & well-rounded creative artist whom would be an asset to any project!
